Willow gentian

There are two plants I should dearly love to introduce to each other's company and which would make a perfect match.

I wrote about Kirengeshoma palmata a  year ago (and prompted a charming response from Japan). I can't remember when I last wrote about willow gentian. Nor can I think why I have never put them in the same bed. They flower at the same time, they both like damp soil and their colours are perfectly complementary. Not only their colours, but their innate elegance. These are two of the most beautiful flowers of the late summer garden.
