Ribes sanguineum ‘Tydeman’s White’

The white flowering currant seems to flower earlier here than its better-known pink sister. By mid March  it is tossing its tresses in the cold wind, each flower-cluster a perfect design for a brooch, let’s say, but all of them together, spaced along each slender branch, making a singularly graceful picture against a darker background.

The bush, now seven feet high, is only four years old and in its prime.

PS Now I'm not certain that this is 'Tydeman's White'. It may be 'White Icicle'.  Does it make much difference?
